NASCAR!

Nascar is back finally!! After two months of the Nascar off season, it is finally back! The biggest race of the season, the Daytona 500, was last week and it was a pretty wild race.

There were two red flags because of a hole forming in the track and it had to be repaired. I thought that was pretty strange and funny at the same time!

This year, I have four favorite drivers (well I did last season as well) and its hard to decide who to root for every week. But of course, I have to go with Joey Logano! He is amazing and is no longer a rookie! My other three drivers are Joey's teammates, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch along with Kasey Kahne. All four drivers had a rough time at Daytona, with two of them being involved in a crash. Kasey was hit by Jeff Gordon late in the race and hit another car and finished 30th. Joey was also involved in a crash and finished 20th. The other two JGR drivers finished in the top 20 but not a top 10. Kyle finished 14th and Denny finished 17th.

I am happy with who won the race though! Jamie McMurray won in his first season back with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. Dale Jr. finished 2nd and stupid Biffle finished 3rd.

Right now, I am watching qualifying for the Sprint Cup on Sunday. Joey is in 9th at the moment and hopefully wont fall back too much farther. It does look a lot warmer in California than it does here in Colorado!

P.S. The United States is still undefeated in the Olympics as of right now! But on Sunday, they are playing another team that is undefeated, team Canada. It should be a pretty good game! Hopefully the US can pull of another victory! :)

The song of the day is in honor of my dad! He can never remember the artist of songs. So every time he hears country song, he will just automatically say Lady Antebellum. It makes me and my mom laugh a lot!

P.S. Hockey in the Olympics has officially started! Today, the United States played Switzerland and won 3-1! Stastny didn't score but that's ok! Tomorrow, Budaj and Slovakia play the Czech Republic while Salei and Belarus play against Finland!

Olympics Vancouver 2010

The winter Olympics are finally here!! I know that they started a few days ago but I am still so excited that they have started. I absolutely love the winter Olympics. I am sure that most of you can figure out why without me saying why. It's obviously because of hockey! The only bad thing about the Olympics is that the NHL is on a 2 week break for them.

I am excited though because 3 of the Avs' players are representing their country! Paul Stastny for the USA, Peter Budaj for Slovakia and Ruslan Salei for Belarus. I want all three of those players to win the gold medal but only one can. Hopefully the US can bring home a medal if not the gold.



The hockey is going to be so tight this year though. Team Canada and Team Russia are probably the two favorites. Canada has Sidney Crosby, Martin Brodeur and Eric Staal. They have a lot on offense and an amazing goalie so it will be interesting to see if they can come home with a medal on home soil. Russia has three of the leagues best scoring guys that you could ask for. With Alex Ovechkin leading the way and Evgeni Malkin and Ilya Kovalchuk right behind him.

The United States has a pretty good chance though. They too have a lot of talent surrounding them. Leading them in goal is Ryan miller who is having an awesome season so far with the Buffalo Sabres. Other than Stastny, there is Zach Parise, Patrick Kane, Chris Drury and Jamie Langenbrunner on offense.

I am so excited for the hockey part of the Olympics to start tomorrow! It's going to be a fun competition between the teams! Hopefully the US can come home with the gold!

My picture of the day is of my two nieces! Audrey is almost 18 months and Kayla is a month old. Audrey is loving being a big sister! Even though I haven't been able to meet Kayla yet because of school! Stupid school ruins everything! Anyway, here is a really cute pic of my 2 nieces!

My song of the day is a classic. Well at least it is if you are a hockey fan and you all know I am. Every hockey fan knows this song. Some teams will change it up a bit and put their player's names in it instead of it saying Bobby Orr. For the Avs, they put Paul Stastny's name in it!

My dad gave me a great idea yesterday for my blog. He said something about having a song of the day. So I decided that it would be fun to have songs and quotes and facts of the day. Anything that seems like a fun thing to share with everyone!

So I am going to start off with a song of the day! This song has been stuck in my head the last few days. It's called Perfect People by Natalie Grant.

Glorious Day

Casting Crowns now has 4 albums out. Every time they came out with a new one, at least one of their songs quickly becomes my new favorite. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite though because I love every one of their songs. But I think I can narrow it down to 4 songs.

3. The Altar and the Door- East to West

My favorite song from their new album is just an awesome song. I first heard it when I went to the Casting Crowns concert a few months ago and as soon as I heard it, I texted my dad and told him to go listen to it. I have loved this song since the first time I heard it and it will stay one of my favorites.

4. Until the Whole World Hears- Glorious Day
